Always in Search of a Great Masculine Card?

I am! My wonderful customers are often asking for masculine cards. Here is one that we recently made using punches. I came across this punch art on Jessica Lewis' blog. I am always amazed by the vision of some people. I had some colored metal sheets that I picked up at a stamping convention years ago and thought it would work perfectly for this card. We embossed the red metal using the Woodgrain folder and then sanded it to reveal the silver. The black Cardstock was embossed just at the bottom using the Chevron embossing folder and the sentiment was taken from the Delightful Dozen stamp set. The stamp had additional sentiments on it so we used a marker to ink just the portion we wanted.

Have you ever done that and ended up catching another portion of the stamp so you get a "shadow" on your card? I do - often enough and on this card too! How did I fix it. Like that piece of Washi tape from the Epic Day This &That Washi Tapes? Well, it is hiding my goof!

The wrenches were made using the silver foil paper. The head was made using the Word Window punch which I punched alone the edge of the silver paper. I then came back and punched it using the 1" circle punch. The base was made using the flower from the Itty Bitty Shapes punches and then again using a 3/4" circle punch. The stem was just a cut strip of the paper. We also sponged the edges in Basic Black before assembly.

The inside sentiment is from the Remembering Your Birthday stamp set and has a strip of Washi tape along the bottom.
