A Whole Lot of Glitter....

I came across this technique on YouTube and wanted to see how easy it was to color the glitter in pieces like this.  It isn't hard - just a bit time consuming.  I first cut two large circles using the Circles Collection dies and the backing board that comes with Stampin' Up!'s DSP.  I then place some of our old Adhesive Sheet down to a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut this using the same circle die.  I then glued them all together.  You need this thickness so when you cut using the Butterfly die you don't cut all the way through and end up with pieces.

Once you run it through with the butterfly die, remove the adhesive backing for all the little center pieces of the butterfly.  Because your white cardstock is glued to the cardboard pieces, they will not come off.  Cover in Dazzling Diamonds and press down so the glitter is secured to your adhesive.  You can then color the glitter using the blendabilities.  (Stampin' Up!'s regular markers do not work as well because they will not dry well on the glitter.)  Hopefully, you purchased some of the blendabilities before they were discontinued or have some other alcohol markers.

Once you have colored all the center pieces, remove the adhesive backing for the full butterfly.  Repeat the process with the Dazzling Diamonds glitter and coloring.  Finally, remove the adhesive backing from the circle and cover in Dazzling Diamonds.  I recommend using a soft bristle brush at each step to remove the excess.

Have you chosen the Irresistibly Yours DSP as your Sale-A-Bration item?  If you haven't, you need to place an order today or tomorrow and get some of this.  It is awesome!  For this card, I sponged Island Indigo (I know, the picture doesn't look that color!), Bermuda Bay and Pool Party to get the hombre look.  Make sure to come back after your color and wipe with a tissue to clean off the embossed portion to get it to really pop.

Countdown to the end of Sale-A-Bration. Oh no!

Wow, Sale-a-Bration this year has gone by so quickly!  We still have a few more days to get free stuff so head over to my online store (button in top right) and place your order and get your free item(s).  Have you seen all the new items that Stampin' Up! has added since the blendabilities were removed?  Lots of good things to select from.

Here's a card I made recently using the A Happy Thing stamp set.  This card was inspired by a card from Karen Squires but mine ended up totally different in the end.   Sometimes this just happens!

It is difficult see in pictures but the splattering is stamped in both Sahara Sand and Gold Encore ink.  I used the honeycomb stamp from Butterfly Basics and the splattering from Gorgeous grunge.
Here on the inside of the card you can see the sponging better.  We sponged using Sahara Sand and Soft Sky.  We also attached some of the ribbon down at the bottom to finish the card.  If you haven't tried it yet, Fast Fuse is great for attaching ribbon like this!

Hot Diggity Dog Flip Card...

Here is the circle flip card using the Hot Diggity Dog set.  In this sample, we used the Daffodil Delight blendabilities to color our rhinestones.  Since they are no longer available, we will just have to go back to using our colored Sharpie pens.  Hopefully, Stampin ' Up! can find a new manufacturer who won't have these issues and we can get them back in our product line someday.

Once in 9 Lives...

Here is the final cat card from that class.  I pulled out an old DSP Pattern Pack for this card but you could substitute just about any patterned paper that you have.  Here's an easy solution to the matching up of the head and body of the cat - just knot a little piece of ribbon at his neck!
I left the white circle in this card blank so you could sign your card here.
