Keep Thinking Outside the Box... Or Basket!

Doesn't the Cable Knit embossing folder look really cool in the Copper Foil sheets?  Oh, and those Copper Foil sheets - aren't they GORGEOUS!  Thank goodness that Stampin' Up's restriction on purchasing them only lasted about a week - I just love the copper!  Would you cross your fingers for me?  I am hoping that they carry over into the annual catalog right there next to the gold and silver.
Here I am getting a little bit more mileage out of the Halloween twine since I never used it on a Halloween card!  I think it works well for fall cards too.

Do You Send Out Fall or Thanksgiving Cards?

Well, do you?  I usually don't but I was recently asked to make some for a recent workshop.  Fall colors are not my favorite as I like bright colors (no browns) but I had fun thinking outside the box for me.  Here's the card I came up with and liked using the dies from the Cheerful Tags framelits in a different way.

Are You Dressing Up? Carving a Pumpkin? Hiding in the Back of a Dark House?

On Friday, I told you that we are in a neighborhood with very few children.  So there are some years where we get 8-10 kids come by and some years where we don't get any.  So here's my question - do I buy candy that I like - thinking that I will eat it if we don't give it all out?  Or do I buy something I would never eat - thinking that I will save on calories but it will sit in the cupboard until next Halloween?  I'm thinking getting something I like - I mean really - we need chocolate to keep functioning, correct?  Thanks for talking me into it - Milky Ways and Reese's Peanut Butter Cups at my house!

Here's my other Halloween card for you this year.  I sponged Whisper White cardstock using Dapper Denim (don't you just LOVE this color?) and at the top with just a tiny bit of Night of Navy.  Start light so you can get a really mottled look.  The moon was sponged using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango just like Friday's card.

Here's a little trick with your pumpkins.  Stamp the actual pumpkins on a piece of paper.  Set the stamps of their faces down onto the paper in each of the three spots you want them.  Then just press down on them using your acrylic block - bam!  They can all be stamped at one time.  Super convenient if you are stamping more than one set of pumpkins.

You've Been Boo'd!!!

Does your neighborhood participate in "Boo"?  That's where someone anonymously leaves some treats at your door with a sign that says "You've been Boo'd".  You are then supposed to "Boo" someone else in your neighborhood after putting the sign in your window so everyone knows who has already been "Boo'd".  I am in an old neighborhood without many children and most don't even decorate for Halloween but we do have that one house that goes all out.  They have skeletons and headstones and witches everywhere!  When our daughter was home, we had a stockade which we built for a Harvest Festival at her school one year.  After that, we would put it on the front porch with a 5 foot skeleton inside for Halloween.  Then it became the "warning" to homecoming dates to make sure they brought Cassidy home on time.  Boy, were there some nervous looks on those boys' faces!

Anyway, back to today's card - Have you seen the Fancy Frost Specialty Paper from the Holiday catalog?  Here's proof that it isn't just for Christmas cards!  I sponged it using Daffodil Delight, Pumpkin Pie and Tangerine Tango.  Remember - think outside the box with your product!  You will find that they can be used in more ways than you originally thought!
