Fast & Fabulous on Friday - A Little of Both Retiring and Carry Over Stamps

 Happy Friday to you!  Out with the old and in with the new, right?  Well, not entirely as some old is carrying over to the new catalog.  The Flower Shop stamp set, Pansy punch, Layering Circles dies, Stitched Shapes dies and the 1/8" Gold ribbon are all carrying over (as well as all of the cardstock used) but we are saying goodbye to the Suite Sayings stamp set, Petite Petals stamp set, Petite Petals punch, In Color Enamel Dots and Irresistibly Floral Designer Series Paper are all going away next Thursday.  I thought it would be fun to make a card using some retiring and some staying and I think this card fits the bill perfectly.

Butterflies Dies - All the Fun These Days!

 Have you noticed all the butterfly dies that Stampin' Up! is offering now?  I love how they coordinate together.  Back when I made this card, we didn't have the new Bold Butterfly dies which coordinate but now we do and I am having such fun making cards with them.  Here I used the vellum pack that was offered during Sale-A-Bration and colored the back side of the leaves.  I also broke out my silicone mat and made the butterfly's body using Crystal Effects.  I then used an alcohol marker in Navy to color it once it had dried.  It peeled up from the silicone sheet easily and I just used a little more Crystal Effects to glue it to the butterfly.

Monochromatic Cards....

 I am not one for monochromatic cards too much - I love color but I came across a card which inspired this one on Splitcoaststampers.  It was fun teaching everyone how to do the paper piercing around a series of joined circles. 

Always one to finish the inside of my card, here it is!

Finally, what is today?  If you are reading this at 9:00 am as it is first posting, I should be checking into my hotel about now for Stampin' Up! Convention!  Woo Hoo!
