Day 12 of the 12 Days of November....

This little elf caught my eye when I first saw the Holiday Catalog and I fell in love with him.  This card was the first Christmas card I created this season and I thought it would be a good one to end with for my 12 Days of November.  Here's a helpful hint if you recreate this card -- when mailing the card, take a couple pieces of the small bubble wrap and cut a small circle out of them that the bow can sit inside.  Stacking two will give enough height that your bow will not be smashed too badly.  You will, however, have to pay a little extra for mailing!

Tippin' on Tuesday - Color Me Happy Stamp Set & Stampin' Blends

Today, I am going to interrupt the 12 Days of November with a Tippin' on Tuesday episode as I have been quite remiss in getting these posted for you.  I will return tomorrow with the final day of the 12 Days of November.  I hope you have enjoyed them.  Haven you ordered your Stampin' Blends yet?  I cannot tell you how much I love coloring with these alcohol markers!  Check out the video which shows you a couple of techniques on this card.  Hint:  Notice that the words are two-tone but don't have the typical blended look?  Or did you notice that the flowers on the Rich Razzleberry card stock look interesting? Watch my video and find out all about these cool techniques!

Day 11 of the 12 Days of November....

Well, I jumped on the eclipse technique with everyone with this CASE'd card from Joyce Hunt.   I ended up adding the Holly embossing to the back of the card, leaving the word JOY smooth.  I have seen a number of these cards using a black piece of card stock behind the white portion and the letters raised up on dimensionals.  While in Virginia at Rose-Ellen Eastman's Regional-style event for demonstrators, we decided to try using black fun foam.  The thin fun foam compresses enough to cut perfectly with the dies.  A warning - be careful when removing the foam from the dies if they stick.  They can tear easily.  Remember to save the center of the letter "O" and emboss that along with the card front!

In order to get some contrast with the outline of the holly and bow, I used Tranquil Tide and Cherry Cobbler for the outline and Emerald Envy for the center of the holly.

I loved returning back to this stamp set from last year's Holiday Catalog.  I fell in love all over again.  I hope you do too!

Day 10 of the 12 Days of November....

Did you take the opportunity to get the Merry Patterns stamp set offered to hostesses back in September and October?  Since I was able to get one, I really wanted to do a card with it for my card buffet in October.  It was a hit with everyone but was a bit of a challenge to line up.  We found that if we stamped the Dapper Denim portion first and then the black outline, it worked better than if we tried to stamp the black first as I usually recommend.  It was find to stamp the Marina Mist after the black so it worked out well.  We then took a Post It note to mask the sides of the candles so we could stamp the pine sprigs.  The thin gold washi tape from the Year of Cheer Washi framed the images well.  We then took the Pretty Label punch and punched a label out of Dapper Denim card stock.  We cut it in half horizontally and placed the pieces at the top and bottom.  A couple of Metallic Enamels finished it off.
