Have You Made a Box Card Yet?

Have you made one of these cute box cards yet? I cased this one from "sewnsun" on SplitcoastStampers. These are fun to make but you better have time to color all these pieces! We even made our own envelopes using the Envelope Board since the card was larger than a standard A2 envelope.

To make this card, I used:

  • Backyard Basics and Simply Sketched stamp sets
  • Backyard Basics framelits
  • Sweet Sorbet DSP, Crumb Cake, Pistachio Pudding, Marina Mist, Whisper White Cardstock
  • Inks - basically, you name it, we used it! Actually, most all the subtles and 2013-2015 in colors
  • The label was cut using the Matchbox die which has been retired for awhile

Peaceful Petals, Round 4

Here is our final card from the Peaceful Petals class. I was inspired by "creativejourney" but switched things up. I stacked 8 layers of the filter paper and punched them out using the Petite Petals punch. It will tear if you try to punch just one layer at a time. We dyed them in an alcohol & Crisp Cantaloupe Reinker solution. Before they dried completely, we took an aqua painter and Melon Mambo ink in the center. We secured the layers using a mini brad.

  • Peaceful Petals and Banner Blast stamp sets
  • Crisp Cantaloupe, Basic Black, Whisper White, Pistachio Pudding, Old Olive Cardstock
  • StazOn, Crisp Cantaloupe, Melon Mambo, Crushed curry, Old Olive inks
  • Banner and Petite Petals punches
  • Ovals Collection framelits
  • Crepe Filter Paper
  • Mini Brads
  • Sweet Sorbet DSP
  • 3/8" Stretch Trim

Gold Embossed Zoo Review....

I am really going to miss this stamp set that retired in June. We made this card at a recent workshop which I cased from Sandi MacIver. She is such a talent! We cut strips from the Modern Medley DSP and embossed it using the Gorgeous Grunge stamp set and gold embossing powder. We also ran a couple strips of sticky strip down the sides of the paper and embossed those as well. We added the chevron ribbon and embossed the sentiment from the Label Love stamp set in white embossing powder and punched out with the artisan label punch.

Here is the inside of the card. I gave everyone the choice of making the card with the penguin or the zebra. Here' she same card using the zebra.
