Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference Swap Card #7....

I was determined to make up a masculine card as it seems we never have enough of them.  As it turns out, while swapping that was the one comment made over and over again when they selected this card.  The card is made using Basic Black, Basic Gray, Very Vanilla and Crumb Cake cardstock, Whisper White satin ribbon, Basic Black grosgrain ribbon and a jumbo eyelet.  The stamp set is Countryside.  I used clear embossing powder on the truck so it would stand out more and I love the result.  How about you?

Stampin' Up! Announcement Regarding Sale-A-Bration.....

Stampin' Up! posted this to the demonstrator portion of the website yesterday.  Amazing!!!!

Great First Day of Sale-A-Bration!

January 26, 2011

Wow! What a fantastic day yesterday (Tuesday) was. Because of your efforts, sales in North America were more than double what they were on the first day of Sale-A-Bration last year! We’re receiving reports of similar successes in all of our foreign markets as well.

To make the day even better, here at the Distribution Center, we shattered our old record of picks (number of items pulled from the shelves and placed in a box to be shipped) with over 137,000 picks in ten hours. The old record was 105,000 in thirteen hours, so we are happy to report that we are working hard to support your amazing Sale-A-Bration efforts!

Our congratulations go out to you for your success, and we’re looking forward to many more days like this in the coming months. Keep up the great work

Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference Swap Card #6....

This beautiful card was CASE'd from Heather Felkey who sent it to me for my birthday.  My wonderful friend Stella sent out an email to a bunch of people that we both know, asking them to send me a birthday card.  Boy, was I surprised when I started receiving cards from people who I knew did not know it was my birthday!  Thanks Stella - it helped me feel special on my birthday.

Back to the card, I used Early Espresso and Whisper White cardstock and the Curly Cute stamp set.  The Designer Series Paper is Greenhouse Gala.  What a great way to use up those scraps!!!

Stampin' Up! Leadership Swap Card.....

This card was one of my most popular cards for swapping.  It was my favorite.  I reworked this card from a card I recently prepared for a workshop.  The butterflies were stamped with the Elements of Style stamp set, colored with the Aqua Painter and inks and then cut out with the Beautiful Wings embosslit.

Stampin' Up! Leadership Swap Card.....

Here's a simple card using the Greenhouse Garden DSP and the coordinating Friends Never Fade stamp set.  I colored the stamp with markers and layered with Old Olive and Early Espresso on a Baja Breeze card.  I just love the new Seam Binding ribbon in the current Occasions Mini Catalog and the Holiday Mini Catalog.  Have you tried it out yet?  If not, plan on ordering some with your Sale-A-Bration order!

Stampin' Up!'s Sale-A-Bration Starts Today!

It's the most wonderful time of the year!

That's the song people sing for Christmas but those of us who love Stampin' Up! can start singing that song TODAY!  I mean, come on, at Christmas, you end up spending a bunch of money and give everything away.  During Sale-A-Bration, you receive FREE product!  What's better than that?

If you haven't received a catalog yet, let me know and I will get one to you as soon as possible.  If you have one, how can you resist all the possibilities for free stamps????

Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference - My Night in Nashville...

I flew into Nashville on Tuesday, January 11 - one day early for Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference so I could get some sightseeing in.  Needless to say - from the picture above - my roommate and I decided not to go sightseeing much since it was snowing and icy.  Oh, and did I mention?  It was only 25 degrees out!  A gal from California and a gal from Florida - neither one of us had driven in the snow before!  That white car on the right, - that's my rental car.  We ended up dropping the car back off at the airport the next morning and took the shuttle to the Gaylord Opryland and spent out time there.  The place was fully enclosed and climate controlled - perfect temperature even though outside it was snowing!  I suppose I was a bit of a chicken for not driving out in the snow but I really didn't want to start my week with a car accident!

Here's a Funny Story from Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference...

Every year the CFO of Stampin' Up!, Scott Nielson, stands up on the main stage and gives a "numbers speech" for Stampin' Up!'s past year.  Here's a picture of Scott -

This year, Scott announces that he is going to do some stamping while giving us the financial information this year.  While he has always been a funny guy - and very approachable - he is, after all, a numbers guy.    So Scott sits down at the table and starts talking about Stampin' Up! accessories and things but then stops and says he needs to something before he can get started.  Here's what he did --

He used a vinyl and changed the name of the Big Shot to the Big Scott!!!!  For the rest of the conference, everyone was referring to it as a Big Scott.  Very Funny!!!!

Stampin' Up! Leadership Swap Card #3.....

This card was a CASE from a swap I received at Stampin' Up!'s 2010 Convention last July.  I would love to give the person credit but she didn't put her name on the back!  She had used Real Red and Basic Black but it looked more Asian to me so I used Elegant Eggplant instead.  Remember to go back through cards that you made before to get new inspiration or sign up for a swap - it is a great way to get ideas!

Interested in a Free Stampin' Up! Tote?

Don't you just LOVE the sound of the word "Free"?   I do!  Here's how you can get a tote for free - contact me and book a workshop during Sale-A-Bration and you can receive one of these beautiful totes for free!  I only have a limited supply so act fast!

Another Stampin' Up! Leadership Swap Card.....

River Rock - not one of my favorite Stampin' Up! colors so I was determined to work with it and see if I could come to love it and I did!  It looks so beautiful with Baja Breeze which really brings out the green tones in it.  I had several comments from people about the color combination and their struggles with River Rock as well.  Perhaps this card will help you get started using a color that hasn't captured your heart yet.  If so, leave me a comment and let me know!

Stampin' Up! Leadership Swap Card.....

Over the next week, I will be posting the cards I made for swaps at Stampin' Up!'s Leadership Conference.  I hope they give you some inspiration!

This card was made with the Sunny Garden Designer Series paper and the Flight of the Butterfly stamp set.  I used the current In Colors of Poppy Parade, Peach Parfait and Pear Pizzazz.   While this was not one of my favorite swap cards, amazingly it swapped out first!  What do you think?  Leave me a comment!

Back from Stampin' Up! Leadership Conference!

Hi Everyone!  I am back from Stampin' Up!'s annual Leadership Conference.  This year it was located in Nashville, Tennessee.  It was my first Leadership conference and I had a great time.  We stayed the Gaylord Opryland Hotel & Convention Center and boy, was it gorgeous!  Here's a picture of the section of the hotel where my room was located.  I didn't have one of the balcony rooms (mine overlooked the parking lot) but I wasn't in the room much anyway!   Yes, you can take a ride on those boats!

I attended a class on social networking and I am determined to be more consistent on posting to this blog so look for lots of cards and pictures from Leadership in the days to come!

They announced that next year the Leadership Conference will be in San Antonio, Texas - somewhere that I have always wanted to visit.  Want to join me?  Just give me a call to sign up as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator and perhaps you can be there too!
