Barely Got Time to Play With You Before You Retired....

I really liked this stamp set when I first saw it in the Occasions catalog and ordered it right away.  It only took me five months to finally use it!  This is definitely a card to use the new Stamparatus for as there is a lot of lining up to do.  We made this in a retiring class this month and I had all the stamps set up on one of the Stamparatus plates creating the whole thing in four steps.  The roses were stamped separately though as you had to stamp them more than one time.  I used the Ruffled embossing folder on the Very Vanilla card stock and stamped the leaves in Soft Suede on Wild Wasabi card stock and then punched them out.  A little bit of copper thread and a small wooden heart finished off the front of the card.

Inside I wanted to do something a little different and used the die from the Petals & More dies and the copper foil.  The Island Indigo Ombre ribbon was a great balance with the copper.

Tippin' on Tuesday - Using Your Die Cuts as a Mask...

It is Tuesday and I am back with another fun card using the Swirly Bird stamp set.  Ya'll know that I am a beach girl and that includes all things nautical, beachy, etc., so you know that I would love this little boat!  In this card's video, I show you how to use your die cut pieces as a mask for creating backgrounds like the blue and white waves on the front and inside of the card.  I also share a tip on stamping the boat and how to color your rhinestones using the Blends markers.

Peek a Boo! You Never Know Where Cats Will Show Up, Do You?

Inspired by a card created by Sacha van de Kerkhof, I created this card for a recent class and found it was a great way to use up some of the designer series paper that is retiring at the end of May.  I love the "denim" look of the umbrella from the Weather Together stamp set that is retiring.  I achieved this look by using the light Night of Navy Blend marker and then coloring the interior with the Color Lifter.
The kitten I used is the one peeking out of the pot in the Pretty Kitty stamp set.  I just trimmed away the pot to get the kitten to peek out from the umbrella and inside card strip.

Saying Goodbye to A Bold & Beautiful Stamp Set - Remarkable You

I waited a long time before purchasing this stamp set and I am really going to miss working with it when it retires at the end of the month.  It is such a beautiful set and work for so many occasions.  Unfortunately, I have found myself needing too many sympathy cards this past month and I think this stamp set works perfectly for that.  The Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set which I used for the sentiment inside is also a great set for these cards.

The background is done by embossing Whisper White card stock with the Basket Weave embossing folder.  I then used the sponge brayer and Marina Mist ink to lightly color the tops of the weave.  The flower and leaves are colored using an AquaPainted and Marina Mist and Always Artichoke ink.

Tippin' on Tuesday - An Impossible Card using Magical Day

Have you seen the "Impossible Cards" that everyone is making right now?  I thought I would share my version as well.  These little cards are definitely an optical illusion as you wonder how they could have the cut outs the way that they do but once you realize how easy it is to create them, they are quite addictive!  While most that I have seen leave the cut outs empty, I decided to put a doily behind it and I really like the way it turned out.  Below are measurements and cutting instructions for the card and the mats.  A video is also provided to show you how to make the card.

Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Friendship's Sweetest Thoughts - Saying Goodbye....

When I received my Occasions catalog, this is the first stamp set I fell in love with.  But here we are five months later and how many cards have I made with it - just three!  Sometimes even the sets we love sit on the shelf.  Most of the time, as soon as the stamp sets retire, I sell mine on eBay and put the proceeds back into my business of inspiring you.  However, I just may need to hang onto this one for a little while longer.  It is a great set to use with the Blends.  I also took the Petal Passion designer series paper and colored the flowers using the Blends.
My word, only one stamp set used here!  If you have been following me for any period of time, you know that this is a rarity.  Definitely a candidate for Fast & Fabulous on Friday!

Bird Banter Using a Wreath Template....

Have you seen all of the cards out using the wreath template that is so hot right now?  A couple of months ago when I first saw one on Jennifer McGuire's video, I decided that I could make one using my ScanNCut and some window sheets.  While my first card was using flowers as most of the cards are, this one turned out to be my favorite - just a bunch of birds from the Bird Banter stamp set.  Make sure you order this stamp set by May 31 as it will be gone after that!

Tippin' On Tuesday - Quick & Easy Tri Fold Card Using Magical Day and Happy Birthday Gorgeous....

Today's card is a tri fold card is really fun and easy to make.  The Magical Day stamp set and the coordinating Myths & Magic designer series paper were so fun to play with and I think they work really well for this type of card.  I know exactly what little girl will be receiving this for her birthday!
Here is the middle section of the card with the wizard and his little owl.
Here is the bottom section of the card with the dragon and sentiment from the Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

Waterfront Stamp Set - So Much Fun & So Versatile....

Today's card uses the Waterfront stamp set and was CASE'd by a card from Darla Watson.  If you haven't purchased this set, you have to!  It is so versatile and fun to play with.  If you are a perfectionist like me (ok, maybe not about house cleaning!), this stamp set will be a challenge at first.  But you will quickly find out that it is so much fun to create with.  Keep tuned as I recently had a class using this set and made several different types of cards with it.

Tippin' on Tuesday - A Fun Fold & It is Easy Too!

Today's card is what I call a Diagonal Fold Card or an Angle Fold card.  I am sure someone else has a better name for it but for now, that's what I am going to call it!  This card is quick & easy to make - you just need to make sure that you cut the pieces properly.  See the video below for instructions.

Here is another variation of the card which we made at a recent class.  It amazes me that the difference in Designer Series Paper can really change the look and feel of the card.  Which one do you like best?

Picture Perfect Birthday Stamp Set - Week 4 in the 4 Week Series

Is it really over already?  Four weeks of cards - okay so I rushed them a little but I wanted to keep you inspired and make sure you get this paper before it retires.  The stamp set and the Berry Burst ribbon are returning in the new catalog but the mini clips and paper will be gone.  I hope you have enjoyed the series!
Check out the video for how to make the ribbon technique on the inside of the card.  It is fun to give your cards a little different look.

Tippin' On Tuesday - Dig Out Your Old Phone Book!

Here is the final card from my technique class.  When I saw Lydia Fiedler do this technique, I fell in love!  How does she come up with these things?  The hardest part of making this card is finding a phone book.  The best part is that every one you make is different.  Make sure to make several from the same inking of your twine as the second and third pulls will get a very different look from the ones before.  My favorite tends to be the second pull.  My other suggestion is to make sure your twine comes together near the bottom as it looks better if the base is not too wide.
