Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Waterfront Stamp Set - Week 5 in the Series....

This unique idea using the Tailored Tag punch was case'd from a talented stamper whose name I cannot locate.  I would love to give credit to her so if this is seen by her, please contact me and I will edit my post to include your name.  I thought it was such a great idea!  Just stamp onto a 4" x 5 1/4" piece of Whisper White.  Then begin punching at the bottom of the card stock following the edges of the punch.  I used White Craft ink to stamp some clouds on the Pool Party card as well.  The ribbon is retired but I wanted to share this clever card with you anyway!

Tippin' on Tuesday Using Bella & Friends....

Today I thought I would show you a simple fold card that is quick and easy to do.  It uses the Bella & Friends stamp set which has the cutest little puppies - you just have to love them!  Check out the video for measurements and how to make this card.

Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Waterfront Stamp Set - Week 4 in the Series....

This card was case'd from Sheran Rigg.  I love the monochromatic look although it actually is using four different colors - Basic Black, Basic Gray, Smoky Slate and, yes, Wisteria Wonder (retired)!  The mountains that are furthest back are actually stamped with Wisteria Wonder.  I used an AquaPainter and Smoky Slate ink for a wash on the sky.

On the inside, I masked off the left side and the bottom using a couple of pieces of washi tape.  Once I finished stamping, I carefully removed the washi tape to give a clean border.

Tippin' on Tuesday - Where Did the Phrase About Having Nine Lives Come From?

What inspires you to create a card?  Are you the type that just looks at an image and immediately can picture exactly what you want to do with it?  Do the sentiments speak to you instead?  In this case, the reference to "nine lives" spoke to me and I figured this card needed nine kittens!  However, nine kittens would not fit on the card unless I bunched them together.  Perfect!  All I need is some Post-Its to mask off and line them up.  And how fortuitous that five kittens fit perfectly across a 4" piece of card stock?  Did Stampin' Up! plan that?  Hmmm.........

Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Waterfront Stamp Set - Week 3 in the Series....

This card was CASE'd by PikkuLilla on Splitcoaststampers.com.  I thought a winter scene was a great way to highlight a non-traditional look for this stamp set.  We  used White Craft ink and silver embossing powder on the sentiment.  The foil strips are silver although they appear gold in the picture.

Tippin' on Tuesday - Sneaking in on the Waterfront Stamp Set Series....

That Lydia Fiedler has done it again - come up with a very cool technique that I had to play with!  Now this one is not for everyone - especially if you cannot stand to have your stamps stained.  I haven't tried it with rubber stamps so it may be okay with those but it definitely stains your photopolymer stamps!

Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Waterfront Stamp Set - Week 2 in the Series....

This card was inspired by a card created by Patty Bennett.  It certainly is a spot that I would like to be!  In order to get the two-tone palm trees, you will first stamp the palms using Lemon Lime Twist ink and then ink just the bottom portion of the palms using Emerald Envy (retired) or Granny Apple Green (new).  I really like the way the two-tones add depth to the trees.

Tippin' on Tuesday - Using Your Acrylic Block as an Stamo...

Today I wanted to revisit an old "technique" of using your acrylic block as a stamp.  I love the simplicity of this and there are so many times that you just want a "block" of color.

When I first saw the Grapefruit Grove color I didn't think I would like it but with the Coastal Cabana, it looks amazing!  What do you think?

Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Waterfront Stamp Set - Week 1 in the Series....

I recently held a Waterfront stamp set class where we made four projects using this versatile stamp set.  Here is the first card in the series.  If you are like me, abstract is a challenge.  I spend a lot of time making sure things are positioned correctly and exactly the way I want them.  This is NOT that kind of stamp set!  It took me a bit to get used to the way you put these images together.  To get my class attendees used to working with this set, I had them put all of the stamps on their blocks and then told them which colors of ink they would be using.  I finally told them they had 45 seconds to stamp this entire card!  It really helped a lot to realize not to over-think placement when stamping with this set.

Check back over the next four weeks for additional Fast & Fabulous on Friday cards using this stamp set.  Also keep your eye out soon for a sneaky card that will show up on a Tippin' on Tuesday as part of this series.  Enjoy!
