Seasons Greetings with Hometown Greetings

I recently attended a stamping night at Mercedes Weber's home and we made this adorable card.  Do you have trouble with your adhesive showing behind your vellum?  Here is a great way to solve it.  The bottom of the vellum is adhered and the houses and snow hide it.  At the top, the white baker's twine holds it in place.  The Softly Falling embossing folder was used to give us the snow.

Wishing You a Merry Christmas....

Have you started on your Christmas cards or are you done yet?  I am about 50% done and have the goal of December 1 to have them completed.  I will let you know if I make it!
Life has been crazy and I have been derelict in posting so I need to catch you up with some holiday inspiration over the next few weeks.  I just returned from Stampin' Up!'s OnStage event and had a blast.  Look for an incredible promotion in January for signing up as a demonstrator - how would you like, not $125 of product but $175 worth of product for only $99?  Amazing, isn't it!  Also they will be offering this adorable tote as an option where you get that same $175 in product plus the tote for only $129.  And on top of that savings, Stampin' Up! pays the shipping on your kit!

Now, back to stamping.  Today's card uses the Detailed Deer Thinlets as well as the Merry Christmas to All stamp set.  When using detailed dies like the flourishes around the outside edges, make sure to adhere some of the Double Sided Adhesive Sheets before you cut them out.  It makes attaching them so much easier!  I coupled Silver Foil sheets and Silver Glimmer paper to make a bright & shiny holiday card.  Night of Navy ink and card stock make this almost a monochromatic look.  A circle of vellum behind the deer was added.

Let Heaven & Nature Sing & An Announcement Regarding Holiday Catalog Product...

Stampin' Up! announced yesterday that due to a glitch in their inventory control system, some items from the Holiday Catalog will run out as early as next week and most likely before the end of the catalog time on January 2.  I have posted the list below so you know to get these items before they sell out.  One of the items is the Thinlets that coordinate with the Winter Woods stamp set.  However we have been advised that this set and the thinlets will be carried over to the 2019-2020 annual catalog.  The only issue is that the 10% off of the bundle will not carry over to the annual catalog so if you wanted to get this bundle, do so as soon as you can.  Remember, if you use my host code on a purchase of $50 or more, I will send you a gift.

So let me share about this card now that the bad news has been delivered.  I created this card for a workshop back in September and of the three projects, this was my least favorite.  However, a large number of the attendees loved it so you just never know what resonates with someone!  We inked the stamp with Tranquil Tide ink and then using a sponge dauber, dabbed Gold Shimmer paint onto the stamp.  Then we stamped on Very Vanilla cardstock.  The picture doesn't really show the shimmer of the tree but it really looked beautiful.    The Christmas Traditions punch & stamp set were used for the sentiment on the front of the card.  I also punched a piece of Early Espresso cardstock and cut it in half horizontally to create a matting.  It was stamped again on scrap paper using Tranquil Tide and the little banner portion was fussy cut.  The pine cones were stamped and cut out using the Winter Woods set and dies and the Gold Foil boughs were cut using the Christmas Staircase dies.

PRODUCTS THAT MAY RUN OUT BEFORE THE CATALOG ENDS (Items with an asterisk will carry over to a future catalog):

Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Varied Vases

I love a punch, don't you?  I really like this Varied Vases stamp set and love that it came with a punch instead of dies.  So quick to punch out your images and have them punched out at once.  Have you seen this trick to stamping and punching out all of your images at once?

Create a template using a piece of the backing paper from the Designer Series Papers (the white backing) and punch out using the Vase Builder punch.  Label the front of it so you know which way to place it when working with it.  Keep the template in your stamp case for future use.

When you are ready to stamp, place the template on your workspace and take the stamps and place them face down in the punched out spaces.  Take an Acrylic E Block and pick them up on the block together.  Now you can stamp all of them on your card stock and punch them all out at the same time!  How great is that?

Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Combining Designer Series Papers for a Beautiful Effect

The Petal Promenade Designer Series Paper is absolutely gorgeous and pairs extremely well with the Delightfully Detailed Laser Cut Designer Paper.  I love the photographic images of this paper.  This card would be perfect for a birthday, a sympathy card or any occasion.   I used the Beautiful Promenade stamp set and dies to stamp and cut out the flower.  The flower was stamped using Melon Mambo but I stamped off once first so the intensity was diminished.

Welcome to the World Little Baby!

This card was made in honor of the birth of my grandniece Sydney Grace Neil who was born on July 9.  When Stampin' Up! announced the new color palette and there were several light pinks, I was kind of surprised until I got the paper in my hands.  The Petal Pink is definitely a peachy pink, the Blushing Bride has a dusky cast to it and the Powder Pink is just that - a powdery pink.  My least favorite was the Petal Pink until I started designing with it and I have fallen in love!

Are you having fun with this paper too?  Such beautiful patterns to work with.  The easiest way to glue it down is shown in my video but if you don't have time to watch it, just put a dollop on your silicone mat, mist lightly with water to dilute and use a sponge/dauber to mix and place on the back of the paper.  It is an easy way to apply adhesive to the back.

Fast & Fabulous on Friday - Another Delightfully Detailed Designer Series Paper Card....

Here is another quick & easy (no stamping!) card using the Delightfully Detailed Designer Series Paper.  This time, I took my sponge brayer and inked the leaf pattern piece of the DSP with Min Macaron ink.  I finished it with the largest Stitched Oval cut from Very Vanilla card stock and the Happy Birthday die cut from the new Rose Glimmer Paper.  I love the changes to the glimmer paper - it is so much easier to cut with the dies!  Again, I used the liquid glue/water combination on my Silicone Craft mat to apply adhesive to the back of the Designer Series Paper.
