Stampin' Up!'s Lovely As A Tree

I have been so terrible about sitting down at the computer to blog so today I decided to research a good app so I could blog from my iPad. I now have an app to edit my pictures, one to apply a watermark easily and one to blog. What does this mean to you? It means more consistent blogging (hopefully)!

This also means a lot of catching up on cards I have made over the last six months. This will include retired product but I will try to make suggested substitutes from the new catalog.

I love Lovely as a Tree and hope it will never retire but I am sure it will someday - but not this year! I love the serenity of a single tree. In this card, we stamped in Basic Gray and then sponged in blue hues. Finally, we used a Signo gel pen to highlight the tree and ground.

The sentiment is from Perfectly Penned.

Colors are Whisper White, Pool Party and Midnight Muse.

Embossing folders are square lattice and Woodgrain. Banners framelits were also used.

For the Sports Fan....

Here is a card that is perfect for a young boy or the sports fan in your family.

 We stamped the winged pattern on Window Sheets using Black StazOn ink and then cut it out. 

Here is the inside of the card.  The baseballs were punched out which made it so easy.  The Great Sport stamp set has a baseball, a basketball, a soccer ball and a football - perfect to cater to just about any sports fan!

Here's what you will need to duplicate this card:
Stamps:       Great Sport, Perfectly Penned
Inks:         Black StazOn, Summer Starfruit
Paper:      Whisper White, Summer Starfruit, Basic Black, Gumball Green, Patterns DSP, Window Sheets
Other:        Chevron embossing folder

Technique Tuesday ... Monet Technique

It is Tuesday and I am back with this week's technique.  It is a quick and easy technique but very pretty for a background piece.

 Here's what you will need:

• Stampin' Up! Watercolor Crayons
• Aqua Painter
• Glossy Cardstock
• Stamp Set - I used Everything Eleanor

 Choose three coordinating colors of Watercolor Crayons.  I used Pretty in Pink, Rose Red and Rich Razzleberry.  Draw squiggly lines in each color, spacing them apart so you can get all three colors in an area.

 Here's what your paper will look like.

 Take your Aqua Painter and give it a light squeeze so you get some water down into the brush.  Then begin to tap, tap, tap down on the paper.  Do not keep the bristles down on the cardstock as you move it.  You want to dab straight down and come back up.

 Repeat over your entire cardstock and let it dry.  Do not try to get rid of the air bubbles that you might have on the cardstock.  These help enhance the look.

 After the cardstock is dry, you can stamp your images onto it.

I finished this card off using the sentiment from Perfectly Penned set and a Rose Red seam binding ribbon.

Here's the Scoop Class Card #3....

Here's the third card in the Here's the Scoop Class. 

For this card, we used the Stippled Blossoms stamp set as well as the Perfectly Penned set for the sentiment.

Here's the inside of the card which was done with Pink Pirouette and Rose Red.  The leaves were done with Old Olive.
And now the scoop:

1. Framelits:  Place face down on top of cardstock if you have an image stamped.
2. If you are cutting with two framelits at the same time, use painter’s tape to keep them lined up as desired.  Here I showed that we could cut the Old Olive "frame" by placing painter's tape in a few spots on the framelits so it stays the same distance apart if you are making several frames.
3. It is difficult to see in this picture but you can see above the flower that I embossed the shape of the small framelit.  To create an embossed look, use “embossing sandwich”.

• 2 silicone sheets
• Cardstock
• Framelit – cut side up (away from cardstock)
• Sheet of copy paper
• Cutting Plate

Stampin' Up!'s Field Flowers Stamp Set....

I CASE'd this card a swap I received from Mary Ellen Byler and made a change or two to make it my own and I really like how it turned out.  I used the Perfectly Penned stamp set for the sentiment and feel like any of the sentiments from this set would work perfectly on this card.  What you will need to make these card is:

Card Swap At Convention....

This card was made by Mary Ellen Byler who presented this year at convention.  She is a twenty-something Amish gal who is tremendously successful as a Stampin' Up! demonstrator.  She also has a great sense of humor!  I have heard that she travels to the library to place orders and get online to Stampin' Up! since they have no electricity in their home.  Truly an amazing gal!
Her card is made using the Field Flowers and Perfectly Penned stamp sets on Wisteria Wonder and Very Vanilla cardstock.  She used Concord Crush, Wisteria Wonder and Pear Pizzazz inks.
