Stampin' Up!'s Wondrous Wreath Set...

This set was on the top of my Wish List when I first saw the Holiday Catalog.  Such versatility!  I have seen cards done in fall and spring colors and altered to create garlands.  This card is just the traditional Christmas wreath but with the "Joy" and Crystal Effects on the berries and bow, it really pops.  I originally planned this card without any embossing on the Whisper White background so the wreath was the focal point but found very quickly that it really needed some texture.  I think the Large Polka Dot folder works perfect!  What do you think?

Christmas Using Blendabilities...

This Christmas Bauble stamp is a great stamp to get started using Stampin' Up!'s Blendabilities.  It is not difficult to think about where the shadowing should be on a round object - the sides, of course!

My Blendabilities journey has certainly evolved since they were first introduced.   When I first got them, I always used the brush side and worked light to dark.  After a few months, I found that I was working dark to light and now, I always use the fine point side!  I find it easier to control where I want the shading and also blending.  How has your Blendabilities use evolved?  

Do you like my red button?  Yep, Blendabilities!  Now you can have as many buttons in a particular color - just by coloring them yourself.

Just a Little Stamping...

Sometimes it is fun to do a card that doesn't have much stamping.  In fact, the only actual stamping is the sentiment in this card.  Yes, I used a little bit of ink to highlight the torn edges of the Dazzling Diamonds Glimmer Paper and a little on the tree on the inside of the card but that's it!  Of course, placing the washi tape on the Whisper White cardstock at an angle and then punching it out took some time!  We made this at one of my Christmas Card classes so I had a bunch of them to make.

To save paper, washi, etc., I cut a piece of cardstock in half (5 1/2" x 8") and then placed the washi tape over the entire piece.  I then cut it in half again (2 3/4" x 8").  This way I could punch out a tree and then flip the paper over and punch another one using the side angle of the previous tree for the next one.  If I remember correctly, I got 5-6 trees  per strip.
