Saying Goodbye to A Bold & Beautiful Stamp Set - Remarkable You

I waited a long time before purchasing this stamp set and I am really going to miss working with it when it retires at the end of the month.  It is such a beautiful set and work for so many occasions.  Unfortunately, I have found myself needing too many sympathy cards this past month and I think this stamp set works perfectly for that.  The Heartfelt Sympathy stamp set which I used for the sentiment inside is also a great set for these cards.

The background is done by embossing Whisper White card stock with the Basket Weave embossing folder.  I then used the sponge brayer and Marina Mist ink to lightly color the tops of the weave.  The flower and leaves are colored using an AquaPainted and Marina Mist and Always Artichoke ink.

Floral Phrases Bundle...

 When Stampin' Up! released the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog, this stamp set and dies were one of the first things on my list of must haves.  Do you do that too?  Fall in love with a stamp set and then not make much with it?  That's how it has been with this set for me.  I am sure in the spring I will find more uses for it - at least I hope so because the roses are just so beautiful.  The Night of Navy die cut piece was layered on top of Whisper White cardstock and then colored using blender pens and inks.  For the sentiment, I used Teeny Tiny Wishes first since my set is a wood mount set and then took the Thoughtful Banners photopolymer banner stamp and stamped second since I could see through it.  Finally, can you find the ribbon on the front of this card?  Look carefully and you will see that the Floral Boutique washi tape is layered on top of the White Organza ribbon!

Hummingbird Don't Fly Away...

 Have you played with the hummingbird stamps from the Picture Perfect stamp set?  Don't you love it?  Well, I have some great news, it is carrying over to the 2016-2017 Annual Catalog!  Woo hoo!  You know that I try to give you as many helpful hints as I can and for this card, here's what I will tell you - work backwards!  For the hummingbird, stamp with Piece #4 first, then #3, then #2 and finally #1.  I even have taken a Sharpie pen and wrote the number on the little tab piece of the stamp so I know which is which when they are out of their case and on my blocks.  For the flower, I do the same thing.  In this case, I used Pink Pirouette and Melon Mambo.  The #2 stamp was stamped with Melon Mambo but stamped off once first so it was lighter than #3.  Boy, Ihope that makes sense!  If you stamp the Pink Pirouette first, you can't see the outline well in order line it up - especially with reds and pinks which tend to stain the stamps.  The black border is from a non-Stampin' Up! photopolymer set I have had forever.  It just worked perfectly for the corners.

On this card, I took the Traveler stamp set and stamped the luggage and train in Early Espresso ink and the ship and globe in Night of Navy Ink directly onto the World Traveler embossing folder making sure that the ink did not get in the depressed areas.  I then placed a piece of Crumb Cake cardstock in the folder and ran it through the Big Shot.  A bit of sponging using Soft Suede ink brought out the detail of the map.  I then stamped the airplane on Very Vanilla cardstock and cut it out using my Scan N Cut.  The sentiment was stamped in Early Espresso ink and was punched using the Banner Triple Punch.
