A Whole Lot of Glitter....

I came across this technique on YouTube and wanted to see how easy it was to color the glitter in pieces like this.  It isn't hard - just a bit time consuming.  I first cut two large circles using the Circles Collection dies and the backing board that comes with Stampin' Up!'s DSP.  I then place some of our old Adhesive Sheet down to a piece of Whisper White cardstock and cut this using the same circle die.  I then glued them all together.  You need this thickness so when you cut using the Butterfly die you don't cut all the way through and end up with pieces.

Once you run it through with the butterfly die, remove the adhesive backing for all the little center pieces of the butterfly.  Because your white cardstock is glued to the cardboard pieces, they will not come off.  Cover in Dazzling Diamonds and press down so the glitter is secured to your adhesive.  You can then color the glitter using the blendabilities.  (Stampin' Up!'s regular markers do not work as well because they will not dry well on the glitter.)  Hopefully, you purchased some of the blendabilities before they were discontinued or have some other alcohol markers.

Once you have colored all the center pieces, remove the adhesive backing for the full butterfly.  Repeat the process with the Dazzling Diamonds glitter and coloring.  Finally, remove the adhesive backing from the circle and cover in Dazzling Diamonds.  I recommend using a soft bristle brush at each step to remove the excess.

Have you chosen the Irresistibly Yours DSP as your Sale-A-Bration item?  If you haven't, you need to place an order today or tomorrow and get some of this.  It is awesome!  For this card, I sponged Island Indigo (I know, the picture doesn't look that color!), Bermuda Bay and Pool Party to get the hombre look.  Make sure to come back after your color and wipe with a tissue to clean off the embossed portion to get it to really pop.
